Baylor University endorses a student health insurance plan for all of their students underwritten by BCBSTX and offered by Academic HealthPlans. The plan is ACA compliant and covers services both on campus at the Student Health Services and nationwide with the BCBS network. Students can enroll themselves and eligible dependents. In addition, dental coverage is also offered through BCBSTX for students on the insurance plan. For rates, plan details and enrollment information, go to myahpcare.com
International Students - All registered International students on non-immigrant visas, taking one (1) or more credit hours are required to participate in the Baylor University Student Health Insurance Plan. Although students are welcome to submit an application for a waiver, in order to have such waiver approved, the plan submitted must be equivalent to the University Student Health Insurance Plan in all material respects. All J Scholars and students on campus for Academic Research or Study are required to participate in the Baylor University Student Health Insurance Plan. International, J Scholars and students on campus for Academic Research or to Study are automatically enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and the cost of the plan will appear on your tuition bill. Please contact Student Health Services to enroll dependents or add dental coverage.
Graduate Students - taking three (3) or more credit hours, including online graduate students, are required to enroll in the insurance plan unless comparable coverage is provided by the required deadline. Students may complete the enrollment online and can get help with any questions through the graduate office.
Undergraduate, Truett Seminary and Law Students - All registered undergraduate and Truett students taking six (6) or more credit hours {three (3) or more credit hours in the summer} are eligible to enroll in the insurance plan. Law students taking one (1) or more credit hours, are eligible to enroll in the plan. Domestic and Law students may complete the enrollment online. Enrollment will be verified each semester. You must meet the required credit hours for each semester enrolled.
Personal property insurance should be a priority if the student maintains high-value personal property in his or her room in the residence halls.
Students who participate in recreation sports through the Division of Student Life are responsible for their own medical expenses and insurance.
